Dan D. Baldwin

1932-1994

In November, 1985, Dan Baldwin purchased the 1908 Courthouse from the Board of Supervisors of Grayson County. This investment was not only in a building , but in the heritage of Grayson County. Dan is quoted as saying, "... sometimes things have more value than money."

After the 1908 Courthouse Foundation was established, Dan presented the deed to the Foundation and the People of Grayson County on July 4, 1986.

Dan Baldwin's generosity continues to rejuvenate our sense of community spirit and pride, thus insuring the preservation of this invaluable and irreplaceable heritage.

The Historic 1908 Courthouse Foundation and the citizens of Grayson County are dedicated to this obligation and accept the responsibility of Mr. Baldwin's faith in Grayson County.

After extensive renovation, the auditorium (formerly the courtroom) was dedicated and named the Dan Baldwin Auditorium.

Available on a fee-for-use basis to individuals, groups and organizations the Baldwin Auditorium is enhanced by superb acoustics. With a seating capacity of 200, many concerts, plays and public meetings are held here.
